It’s no secret that smoking (and chewing) tobacco is harmful to your health. But hey, maybe you’ll be lucky and not get lung cancer or lip cancer or any other cancer. Maybe you’ll just have nasty gum disease, constant phlegm, ruin your voice and look older than you are because you have smoker’s skin. I know, it’s not a very nice picture and that’s why so many people have a desire to finally stop smoking. The problem is how they’re doing it.

First, let’s look at the now most popular stop smoking prescription on the market, Chantix. Last November, the FDA began reviewing cases of suicidal thoughts and aggressive and erratic behavior in Chantix patients that were received from Pfizer (Chantix manufacturer), along with a number of reports from the media and internet sites. At the time, the agency (FDA) wrote on its web site that “a preliminary assessment reveals that many of the cases reflect new-onset of depressed mood, suicidal ideation and changes in emotion and behavior within days to weeks of taking Chantix.”
