One simple but good idea to add warmth and beauty to almost any room of your home is to install a fireplace. There are contemporary gas fireplaces that work in both large homes and small apartments. Many of the gas fireplaces available need no venting at all which means they are great for renters. If you do own your home you can choose between a direct vent fireplace, a ventless fireplace and a traditional vented fireplace that uses an existing chimney. When it comes to modern style, however, ventless or direct vent is the easiest way to go.
