The most important aspect of dog training is ‘bite inhibition’.
The force in the jaws of an adult dog can create injuries that can even be life threatening.
Bite inhibition is all about training the dog not to use force it its jaws when it is mouthing any part of the human body, the clothes a human is wearing, or property that belongs to humans.
A dog learns bite inhibition from its litter mates, its mother and members of its social pack.
We the dog lovers, remove it from its natural school before it gets the chance to learn all about bite inhibition. Therefore it is up to us to train the dog in the art of bite inhibition before it becomes an adult dog.
