IRS Tax Refund

Every year American’s scramble to get their taxes done to see if they are going to get an IRS tax refund. This money is often a welcome relief, and many use it to put away for savings, or to get larger ticket items for their homes that they may have been putting off. Each year I would look forward to this, as it meant that I could do a little guilt-free shopping. This year, however, that is going to change. For the first time in my life, I have to pay in. I guess it’s good that we are making so much more money, but having to pay in really isn’t fun.

For a long time our IRS tax refund was smaller, but still welcome. Once we added a child to our home, our refund got much bigger. I thought this year I would get her a new bed and dresser, and put some of it away for her school clothes next fall. That was not meant to be.

My husband was always in a hurry to get our IRS tax refund back, so we always did our taxes in January, or at least as soon as we both had our tax information together. This year when he did the taxes on our software to get an idea of what we might expect to get back, he was puzzled. Though we knew we might have to pay some in because of my income, we had no idea how much it would be. He had a rather large refund coming from his income, but my tax ate that up, and I still owe quite a bit more. It was something of a shock, and we have delayed doing our taxes until we have to.

Normally, we would have already filed our taxes and we would have gotten our IRS tax refund back by now. This year we haven’t filed yet. I know we are coming up on the deadline, but it’s much harder to part with my hard earned money than I thought it would be. I know I have to pay taxes, and I know that there is no way around it, but that doesn’t make it any easier to do.

I know I am different than most, but I think what someone does about unwanted pregnancies is much like sexual orientation, political views, and religion. It is simply nobody’s business. If people would put all of the energy they put into tearing down others and challenging their choices into their own lives, they would have a much more fulfilling life. Unless someone’s choice about their sex life or their unwanted pregnancies directly puts your life in danger, you should really butt out and mind your own business. I know some of these issues affect everyone, but they are personal issues. No one has the right to belittle or harass someone about how they live as long as they are not breaking the law. You might find you are a happier person if you focus on yourself and your family instead of everyone else.

Though I feel that way about most of these things, there are thoughts I have about unwanted pregnancies. I would hope that each girl and each woman who is faced with this will at least give it some thought before they act. Don’t rush into your solution. In the case of unwanted pregnancies, you do have to think quickly, but make sure you weigh all of your options so you don’t question yourself when all is said and done. It is your business and your business alone, but make sure you can live with your choices.

So the next time you’re surfing net-land and notice your computer being sluggish, you can assume it’s the overload of fellow cyber nuts. Although there is room for everyone in cyberspace, things do tend to get a bit slower when we’re all crammed in together. Just don’t get upset and toss your expensive laptop out the window in a fit of rage. You’ll need it later to check your email.

Everyone has heard of the Nigerian Internet scam where someone posing as a high member of a foreign government tries to defraud naïve people over the e-mail. Few people, however, realize the extent of Internet fraud. It goes far beyond the scam e-mails that you see in your inbox every day, far beyond the Internet viruses that you are warned about in the news. Basically, fraud on the Internet is a multibillion dollar business. Back in the day, Internet hacking used to be something done by young men as a way to prove their online abilities. They would hack into a system just to show off to their friends. Although sometimes they would crash systems doing this, in general they did very little damage. It was just a game for them, and although it was a game that governments and businesses hated, it didn’t do very much damage to them.

Today, Internet fraud can take many different forms. Nowadays, most people are smart enough not to get scammed over the e-mail, but nonetheless the same people get ripped off over eBay all the time. There are Internet dating scams, online auction scams, spoofing, phishing – you name it and someone has probably already ripped someone off with it. Sometimes, an Internet scam  means that you lose a few thousand dollars. Usually, you can recover from something like this and get back on your feet. Sometimes, however, Internet fraud is much worse than this. People have their identity stolen over the Internet every day.

One of my friends had his identity stolen. He didn’t have any kind of identity protection, and he wasn’t using a secure, encrypted system. Basically, he did everything wrong in the way most of us do everything wrong. Like most people, he didn’t worry about it until it was too late. Because of that, he had thousands of dollars of property charged in his name. It ruined his credit and nearly bankrupted him.

Although he eventually recovered from Internet fraud,his experience should be a lesson to all of us. He was not even able to successfully sue the people who scammed them. They had excellent lawyers working for them, and were able to cover their tracks too well. Basically, he had to eat some of the losses and go on with his life. If he had taken a few simple steps for some Internet fraud prevention, however, things would have been much different. It would’ve been a lot easier for him.

For many of us, high speed Internet access is more than an addiction – it is a way of life. If you are traveling abroad, you know the anxieties that having the potential to be disconnected from the Internet bring. Without good international Internet access, how are you going to stay in touch with people? Most of us not only depend on the Internet for our personal lives, but for our jobs as well – at least to some degree. High speed access is a necessity, almost on the order of food, clothing, and shelter.

When I went abroad to travel around Eastern Europe, I signed up for international Internet access. I figured that international Internet access was the best way to ensure that I would never be disconnected. After all, I needed to know that anywhere I want, there would be an easy way for me to get in touch with the Internet. Although a lot of companies offer Internet service transferred to your new home, few of them can actually guaranteed truly international Internet access. If you want Internet international access, you have to give up the idea that it will be high speed access. The only way to be able to get service anywhere is to go with a dial up Internet service. Even then, there will be some areas where it doesn’t work.

Finding an Internet service provider that would guarantee international Internet access costs a good bit more than I would have expected – it was almost on the order of satellite Internet access. They guaranteed that, anywhere I would go, I would be able to login easily. To me, this seemed worth the expense. Nevertheless, I should have researched my options more carefully.

It turns out that international Internet access is not really necessary for many parts of the world. In Most of Eastern Europe – at least the parts where I was – I could find Wi Fi Internet access with ease. Instead of using slow, clunky Internet dial-up access, I could go to a coffee shop and check my e-mail. Needless to say, the international Internet access was a complete ripoff. Everywhere I went, there was a higher level of high speed Internet available, and it was often free. Before you panic and sign-up for international Internet access, you should take a good look at the countries you’re going to. Most, if not all of them, probably offer local services that will suit your needs.

We need more prisons! I’ve been hearing this spiel from people since I was a small child. Probably a bit more than most do, considering my father was in law enforcement. He was always ranting and raving about criminals and how they need to stay locked up longer, but there just isn’t sufficient room. It amazes me how much bad element we have on this planet; especially in the United States. We’ve got to find a more efficient way to bring down the crime statistics. One great nuance that we all can benefit from is online inmate searches. Whether or not you’ve used this free service before, I do encourage you to try it now.

I am one of those individuals who prefer to stay informed. This statement especially applies to crime and safety measures. I try my best to keep my family safe and free from danger. Indoor Hot Tub

After recently moving into a larger house, we realized that we had a few rooms that just seemed a bit bare. I secretly thought that the sunroom would be perfect to put an indoor hot tub, but I was afraid that my husband would think that I was crazy. A few months after we’d moved in, he was complaining about back pain one evening. I used that opportunity to mention getting an indoor hot tub and how wonderful it would be for his aches and pains. Much to my shock, he didn’t veto the idea immediately. He said that it was an idea that was worth thinking about. I dropped it, not wanting to look or sound too eager.

A week later, he approached me and mentioned how we needed to make some changes to the sunroom if I really did want to get an indoor hot tub. As calm as possible, I listened to the changes that needed to be made and we started to make the preparations. First, we needed better ventilation. There was no way that we could put in a hot tub without having a ceiling or ventilation fan installed. There needed to be a way for the moisture to escape. We decided to put in two small ventilation bathroom type fans that would be as quiet as imaginable. We also agreed that we would need to put down some new flooring. Putting an indoor hot tub in on top of carpet was definitely not a wise idea. So, we went shopping for some tiles that could withstand getting wet on a daily basis. This was an opportunity to redo the entire sunroom, making it look incredibly appealing. Along with putting in new floor tiles, we created a tiny drain as well. That way, should there ever be a lot of excess water or splashing, it wouldn’t just lay on the floor, some of it would start to drain outside. I didn’t need a pool in the same room as my new indoor hot tub. That would be a mess to clean up.

And so, after planning the preparations and getting a new floor, we went shopping to find our ideal and affordable indoor hot tub. After a few stores and sales, we placed an order. It would hold 4 people, which means that the two of us would fit into it perfectly. Before I knew it, I was sitting in my new indoor hot tub, watching the rain fall down right outside of the windows. While the wind blew outside, I was snuggly warm and cozy inside.
