A lot of people, when they take trips to Nevada, plan out every Las Vegas event that they will go to in detail. They think that, if they don’t decide on the Las Vegas events before hand, they will miss out. In reality, however, there are so many events Las Vegas has to offer that you can’t possibly decide before hand. Although you might want to plan any event Las Vegas that might be hard to find tickets to ahead of time, in general you will be able to find entertainment once you get there. If you leave your schedule open, you will probably find Events in Las Vegas that you would not have discovered otherwise. There is always so much going on that there is no danger that you will miss out if you don’t plan ahead.

It is strange to think about Las Vegas as a place to take in local, underground culture. Nonetheless, there are many Las Vegas events that you don’t hear about in other parts of the country. Some of these are simply smaller versions of the more typical Las Vegas events – local lounge singers, chorus girls, and the like. Other times, however, interesting independent music acts come through at the last minute. You can find Las Vegas concerts with any style of music that you like, from rock to rap to classical. A lot of these Las Vegas events are not very well publicized nationally, so the only way to find out about them is to look them up once you get to Vegas. You will be glad that you did!

On our Las Vegas vacations, we usually only plan out half of our days. The rest of the time, we wake up, get a local paper, and see what Las Vegas events are going on that day. Sometimes, we will take in a magic show. Other times it might be a concert. We might even see a few plays while we are there. Of course, there is always gambling, which is a big draw to some people. Nonetheless, I think Las Vegas events and the best part of the city. You can gamble anywhere – it is always pretty much the same. It is true that Las Vegas is a glitzier and more glamorous place to gamble, but it certainly is not the only place to make bets. If you don’t spend a lot of your time going to Las Vegas events, you really might be missing out.

Nowadays, Lasik correction has become extremely popular. Although just a few years ago, it was hard to find laser eye surgery,  now you can find a LASIK eye center in almost every major city. Now there are even LASIK eye centers opening up in malls, and all of them promise to have you in and out the same day, correcting any flaw in your vision and giving you near perfect eyesight. So far, there have been no major health effects to laser surgery eye correction, and LASIK prices have been coming down. Nonetheless, you have to wonder – is it really worth the risk?

Now I have nothing against new science, and I think that the march of technology has done tremendous things for us in recent years. Nevertheless, I wonder if LASIK vision correction is an unnecessary risk. LASIK eye surgery so far has proven to be beneficial. For many people with serious vision problems, it is a much better solution than glasses. It seems to last, And although it is initially more expensive than glasses, after being able to forgo a couple new corrective eye wear prescriptions, it more than pays for itself. Nonetheless,  the first LASIK eye center was developed less than a decade ago if my memory serves me correctly. Perhaps all of the LASIK eye center surgeries will continue to have no ill health effects as the recipients age, but who really knows? It wouldn’t be the first time that what seemed like a beneficial medical procedure has gone horribly wrong.

For example, who could have predicted that silicon breast augmentation would have such dire health effects? Who knew about thalidomide before it was too late? Don’t get me wrong – if I had very serious eye troubles that could not be easily corrected by glasses, I would be the first person into a LASIK eye center. As it is, however, my vision problems are only moderate. I have thought about going to a LASIK eye center before – I can’t wear contacts, and I don’t like wearing glasses – but I have so far decided against it. After all, I know glasses are safe. LASIK eye surgery, by contrast, has not had enough time to prove itself. You can call me old-fashioned, but my eyes are one of the most important sensory systems that I possess. Until another decade or two passes, I am not going to enter a LASIK eye center.

La Jolla De Mismaloya

The Pacific Coast of Mexico is a popular tourist spot with beautiful beaches, mountains and tropical jungle. La Jolla de Mismaloya (The Bay of Mismaloya) is a small resort just south of Puerto Vallarta. There is much to see and do in the area. Many visitors go in the winter to avoid the crowds and intense heat. The usual winter temperature is a pleasant 70oF - 80oF. It’s best to avoid the rainy season of June to October and the hurricane season runs from late September to early November. Accommodation is first class with many fine hotel complexes in the area, and there are friendly restaurants serving Mexican and Italian food. Some specialize in the locally caught seafood.

Sports enthusiasts love the region; there are excellent golf courses, tennis courts and horseback riding facilities. The winter is a good time to go surfing and to see orca and humpback whales. There are guided tours arranged for mountain bikes, off road tours or the coastline can be explored by chartering a yacht. Sportfishing is another popular activity and it’s a favorite spot for snorkeling and scuba diving. There are lava tubes and caves to enjoy and the opportunity to see eels, sea turtles and manta rays. The more adventurous can go bungee jumping.

The Los Arcos Maritime Nature Reserve is one of the best attractions in La Jolla de Mismaloya. It’s an underwater protected marine environment, where visitors can go diving or see the sea life from a glass-bottomed boat. Nearby Puerto Vallarta is well worth a visit. The annual boat show there takes place in November and there are boating regattas in the winter. Also in November, is the Gourmet Festival. This is a real treat for food lovers with cookery classes and tequila and wine tasting.

Another reason for the popularity of the resort dates back to 1963 when a famous movie was shot in La Jolla de Mismaloya. This was the drama, Night of the Iguana, directed by John Huston. The area came to international attention as the world’s press flocked to snap the stars and tourists tried to get a glimpse of the Hollywood glitterati. If they were lucky, they got to see Richard Burton, Ava Gardner and Deborah Kerr. Sometimes Elizabeth Taylor, who was married to Burton, would visit the set. The old sets now serve as restaurants and tourist attractions.

It’s easy to keep busy here but it’s also tempting to find a bit of beach, soak up the sun and sip a Tequila sunrise. The atmosphere is very laid back in La Jolla de Mismaloya and just listening to the ocean may be enough activity for some.

Kuala Lumpur Malaysia

The Malaysian capital is an intriguing blend of the traditional and the modern. Kuala Lumpur Malaysia has established itself as a business center and one of the most vibrant cities in the world with cutting edge architecture. It has a lively scene of nightclubs and bars with some well known venues, such as the Hard Rock Café. In contrast, there is the splendor of ancient Hindu temples.

The economy grew from the rubber and tin industries and now the office blocks house international, blue chip companies. The country broke away from being a British colony in 1957. Kuala Lumpur Malaysia is an oasis, surrounded by hill country and dense forest, in a warm climate with a monsoon season. The amount of rainfall ensures the lush vegetation of the area.

The most famous landmark in the city is the Petronas Twin Towers, once the tallest buildings in the world and still very imposing. The concrete, glass and steel design is distinctive and houses a number of well known companies.

The city hosts annual events, including the new Malaysia International Gourmet Festival. Master Chefs from the area and far afield and restaurants take part in showcasing fine food and wine. There are representatives of various cuisines, including Mediterranean, French, Chinese, Italian and Japanese. Every follower of designer labels in Kuala Lumpur Malaysia would like to be seen at Kuala Lumpur Fashion Week. It is an opportunity for local and overseas designers to display their talent and to participate in a bit of competition.

The National Museum is located in a fine building and has an impressive collection of exhibits, giving an insight into the culture and history of the country. There are two large murals and objects from everyday life in addition to natural history displays, weapons, old locomotives and vintage vehicles. The National Art Gallery has its collection in a modern building and includes work from both local and international artists. The gallery has a calendar of events, including talks and workshops. Music lovers can hear concerts at the Philharmonic Hall, which is the home of the Malaysian Philharmonic Orchestra.

The natural world is on view at the Lake Gardens; where there is a deer park, butterfly park, bird park and orchid collection. In addition to the botanical gardens, there is a children’s playground, a running track and boating on the lake. The gardens are a haven of tranquility in the bustling metropolis of Kuala Lumpur Malaysia.

Souvenirs can be bought at the Central Market where there are stalls selling arts and crafts, antiques, clothes and general tourist souvenirs for the visitor to cherish as a memento of their stay in Kuala Lumpur Malaysia.

Kevin Harvick

The exciting world of car racing throws up idols every so often. Kevin Harvick has legions of fans and an impressive list of achievements. His good lucks and friendly charm also appeals to the sponsors. Underneath that laid back persona, he is extremely competitive. He was born in 1975 in Bakersfield, California and developed an interest in go karting whilst a child. He subsequently competed on the go-kart circuit for ten years, winning seven National Championships.

Leaving the world of go-karts in 1992, he became a NASCAR driver for the regional South West Series touring division. This took place along with his High School studies. He decided to be a full time driver in 1995 and won the championship for the West Series three years later. In 2000, Kevin Harvick began racing for the Busch Series over two seasons, gaining the Rookie of the Year title. In addition to the Busch races, he also participated in the Winston Cup. It was a hectic time for Harvick and he was building a reputation in his sport.

It was time to branch out even further. Harvick had married DeLana in 2001, and they launched their own entry into the Craftsman Truck Series. This proved extremely successful. DeLana comes from a racing family, her father was a short track driver, and she has been a great support to Harvick in his career.

When Dale Earnhardt was tragically killed at the 2001 Daytona 500, owner Richard Childless brought Kevin Harvick in to replace him in the Nextel Cup. His first win in the cup event was at his third race, which took place in Atlanta. He was constantly high in the points league. He was suspended from the sport for a time after an incident in a Craftsman Truck race when he was censured for rough driving.

Today, the driver continues to take part in the Busch Series and the Nextel Cup. He also races in the Craftsman Truck Series sometimes. He is in fact only one of a handful of drivers to win a race in the three National outings, for Nextel, Busch and Craftsman Truck. He has also become involved in the animated, Internet show, The Kellys. This tells the continuing story of a family trying to succeed in professional stock car racing. Kevin Harvick does voice over as himself and is the first professional driver to take part as a guest. His place in the record books is assured and his star continues to rise.

Keepsake Box

I was never much of a big collector. I used to save things that were special to me, but I never had things that I thought needed to be put away for safekeeping. Most of the time I would find that the things I had saved would in the end remind me of something that I no longer wanted to remember. When that happened, I simply tossed everything. I never felt the need to have a keepsake box, but in the last four years, that has most definitely changed.

We all have heroes, and we all have people we admire. I found such a person, and in the past four years, I am glad that he has never let me down. Now that he has had to retire, it will be harder for me to see him, and I don’t know what the future may hold. I am smart enough to know that there are no promises for the future, no matter how well meaning anyone may be. I know that the memories I have in my keepsake box may be all that I have. He lives so far away, so far away that we may never meet again. Though the thought of that kills me, and has been hard for me to handle, I do have what is contained within my keepsake box.

Each country does their own fashion thing. I spent some time in Asia and can honestly say that their trends vary from what you see here in the states. Japanese fashion in particular caught my attention. I almost thought that their attire was more risque than ours. Of course they live by a different set of rules over there. Naturally like in most regions, these fashion trends involved primarily the youth. I didn’t see any 50 year old business men with tattoos and lip piercings. I suppose what is regarded as professional over there if likely similar to here. Most countries tend to agree on this notion. Or at least from what I’ve deducted.

Check this out. One of the most bizarre Japanese fashion trends I encountered in Tokyo was see-through clothing. Actually it wasn’t see-through at all. Instead it had a picture on it. Can you imagine a woman walking around in a skirt with a picture on it, leading others to believe that they’re seeing her nude legs and underwear? This is just weird if you ask me. I can’t really grasp the point of this odd fashion trend. But I will say that I wouldn’t want my wife, child, or sister wearing such a garment. It’s just a bit too extreme and perverse for my taste. I understand that the fashion world is a forever-changing entity, but sometimes designers are taking it too far. What ever happened to just good old-fashioned clothes that keep you warm in the winter, cool in the summer and looking nice?

I never decided to like James Taylor songs – I didn’t really have a choice. I suppose if I had been 15 or 16 when I heard my first James Taylor song, I probably would have hated it. Generally, when something is that light and musically non- confrontational, I can not stand it at all. Nonetheless, James Taylor music is a part of me now. We used to listen to James Taylor song after song on long road trips. My parents used to play James Taylor albums every Sunday morning while we would sit around eating brunch and enjoying watching the day slipping by. I do not like every song James Taylor has ever written, but in general I feel pretty positively disposed towards him.

Nonetheless, I have not really listened to a James Taylor record in years. I guess I’m so embarrassed about my James Taylor song affinity that I won’t keep his albums around. I do not think I ever consciously decided to do it, but over the past few years, I have let James Taylor completely slip out of my life. If a friend of mine had not played a James Taylor song for me the other week, in fact, I might have completely forgotten him.

This wasn’t just any friend, and he wasn’t playing just any James Taylor song. We had grown up together, and have listened to James Taylor together many times. The James Taylor song that he was playing was Fire and Rain. One time when we were young, we got into a big fight when our families moved apart. We did not talk to each other for several years, and it seemed like we would never be friends again. Every time either of us heard that James Taylor song, however, it would make us think of the other one. It took awhile, but finally we got sick of fighting and decided to be friends again. I won’t say that the James Taylor song is the reason that we are friends, but it certainly helped reconcile us.

Listening to some of the songs James Taylor wrote with my friend, it made me realize why I liked him in the first place. James Taylor songs are not the greatest in the world, but there is something compelling about him in an understated way. His songs are soothing, mellow, and nonthreatening, but they still say something. I’m not frequently in the mood to hear a James Taylor song, but when I am nothing else will suffice.

I don’t know if you still do New Year’s resolutions. Many people give them up as they grow older. They get tired of the endless cycle of failure, so they decide not to even try. This year, however, I am going for it. i want to lose wieght, and have wanted to for more than a year now. I am far from my ideal body wieght – my physician told me that I was at least 50 pounds over. Although I don’t know how to lose weight, I suspect that it involves diet and pills. If that is all that you need, hook me up!

Even though i want to lose wieght, I haven’t always felt this way. For a long time, I was in denial about how far I was my ideal body wieght. I told myself that I was just big boned, said that I had a soft and comfortable body – all of the usual lies that people tell themselves when they’re afraid to see how fat they are. Now, however, I am sick of it all. I want to lose weight, and I want to lose weight fast. I want to be slim, attractive, and irresistible. I want people to look at me on the street not because of the rolls of fat hanging from my belly, but because of the alluring way my ribs are poking through my skin.

So far, I have lined up a lot of lose weight fast plans. A lot of these look good, but some are obviously better than others. When I told my mother that I wants to lose weight she suggested taking something with ephedra in it. Apparently, ephedra weight loss is the best kind. Unfortunately, however, ephedra has recently been banned by the government. i want to lose wieght, but I guess I waited a little bit too long to jump on the bandwagon. Now that the most effective weight loss pill is no longer on the market, I don’t know what I’ll do.

Although i want to lose wieght – and want it desperately – I’m pretty firm about doing it the right way. I only want to lose weight naturally. I don’t mind taking pills, but they must contain natural herbs or else I’m not going to take them. I have heard all kinds of late-night shows talk about the hazards of man-made chemicals. Although not all doctors agree – and mine actually laughed at me when I brought it up – it still seems like a risk not worth taking. i want to lose wieght to be healthy, not to get sick from chemicals!
